11,000 hectares cleared of mines in Azerbaijan’s liberated lands in 1Q2025

In the first quarter of 2025, a total of 11,000 hectares of land in Azerbaijan’s Karabakh, East Zangazur economic regions, and four villages of the Gazakh district were cleared of mines, the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) told Report.

During the January-March period, a total of 13,956 mines and unexploded ordnance were detected and neutralized in the liberated territories. Of these, 1,141 were anti-personnel mines, 485 were anti-tank mines, and 12,330 were unexploded ordnance.

ANAMA conducts demining operations across all liberated territories, encompassing the economic regions of Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur, as well as the villages of Baghanis Ayrim, Ashaghi Askipara, Kheyrimli, and Gizilhajili in the Gazakh district.
