Presentation ceremony of ‘Mother tongue - Azerbaijani school’ project held with participation of diaspora representatives

The presentation ceremony of the "Mother tongue - Azerbaijani school" project was held with the participation of diaspora representatives from over 20 countries visiting Azerbaijan, Report informs.

The event was dedicated to the promotion of "Mother tongue - Azerbaijani school" among Azerbaijanis living abroad.

The project implemented by the initiative of the Association of Young Teachers provides distance learning in the Azerbaijani language for Azerbaijanis of different age groups living abroad.

At the presentation ceremony, the chairman of the Azerbaijan Young Teachers' Association, Rufat Asadzade, gave information about the project: "Our goal with this project is to promote the Azerbaijani language, culture, and national values among our compatriots living outside of Azerbaijan."

He said that participation in the project is free of charge and lessons will be held online for the project participants: "Teachers participating in the project are quite experienced and also know English and Russian languages. So, if there are any problems during the learning of our mother tongue, teachers who know different languages quite well will be able to easily solve those problems."

Later, Ilaha Hajiyeva, head of the content of "Mother tongue - Azerbaijan school" gave detailed information about the activities of the virtual school, the content of the program, and other important issues to the participants: "This project is related to the preservation and development of our mother tongue. The difference of our project is that it covers a wider geography. Regardless of where they live, students will be able to learn our native language online."

Hajiyeva emphasized that the lessons are mainly based on the principle of joyful learning: "There are 10-15 students in the class. In the end, certificates will be presented to them."
