Malaysian officials invited to COP29

Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora (SCWD) of Azerbaijan, who is on a visit to Malaysia, met with Maimunah Mohd Sharif, the Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, Report informs.

The mayor, who warmly welcomed Fuad Muradov, said that she had visited Baku several times and was impressed by the hospitality of the Azerbaijani people. She expressed her gratitude for the invitation of Malaysian officials to the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) to be held in Baku. She emphasized that Kuala Lumpur is learning from Baku's experience to preserve the ancient part of Kuala Lumpur like Icherisheher and intend to apply it.

Providing information about the activities of the committee established by the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, Fuad Muradov shared his thoughts on the integration and networking of Azerbaijanis into local society in accordance with President Ilham Aliyev's recommendations, the work done by Azerbaijani communities abroad, as well as preserving their national identity, projects implemented with representatives of friendly nations, the educational life of Azerbaijani students in Malaysia, and exchange of experience within the framework of international projects.

During the meeting, an exchange of views was held on the development of cooperation on issues of mutual interest.
