Influential Azerbaijanis in Ukraine - surgeons, colonels, athletes...

Ukraine, which has been waging a large-scale war against Russia for over a year, is at the center of the world's attention. The activity of ordinary Azerbaijanis living in this country in humanitarian aid and the bravery of Azerbaijanis who are citizens of Ukraine in battles regularly draw attention.

Doctor of medical sciences surgeon Mammad Mansur Baghirov, who has lived in Ukraine for over 60 years, has a high reputation in thoracic surgery in this country. As a scientist-surgeon, he is also invited to perform operations in several European countries.

Stating that he has been working in Ukraine for many years, the doctor said he has given lectures in different countries: "The number of operations performed by our clinic in Kyiv is more than the total number of surgeries performed in Japan in this field. I have patients from the USA, Japan, and Arab countries."

Professor Baghirov said he is currently participating in helping people with both medical and non-medical capabilities during the war.

Colonel Murshud Khanbaba Khalilov has been living in Ukraine for more than 30 years and has worked in a high position in the law enforcement agencies of the country. He was the head of various penal institutions and then the head of the Department of the State Security Service of Ukraine. Currently, he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Union of Ukrainian Security Service veterans. He has a special reputation in the law enforcement agencies of Ukraine:

"Currently, I am actively involved in bringing clothes and other aid to the soldiers using my connections."

Parviz Nasibov is one of the most popular sports figures in Ukraine. Nasibov, who won a silver medal in wrestling at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, was also awarded by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy: "I am a silver medalist of the Tokyo Olympic Games, a European champion, and a silver medalist of the World Championship. I represent Ukraine in the international arena. I was born in the Muganli village of the Aghstafa district of Azerbaijan. I lived in Azerbaijan until I was six years old. My family moved to Ukraine 12 years ago. My sports career continued in this country. Currently, I am preparing for the European Championship, which will be held in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, in early April. I participated in my first competition at the age of 22, and won a silver medal. I was received by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. During the meeting, I told him that I am an Azerbaijani, grew up in Azerbaijan, and talked about the attitude of Azerbaijanis towards him and Ukraine."
