"Armenia must seriously consider Azerbaijan's five-point peace proposal and sign a peace agreement," Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and head of the Foreign Policy Department of the Presidential Administration, has said.
According to Report, Hikmat Hajiyev stressed that there are important challenges for the diaspora at the next stage.
He noted that President Ilham Aliyev's speeches during the patriotic war played a major role in preventing the information blockade:
"Our Diaspora also took an active part in this process. However, this propaganda continues after the war. For example, a recent resolution of the European Parliament states that historical and cultural monuments of Armenians are allegedly being destroyed in the liberated territories. Do they not see the destruction of cultural and historical monuments of the Azerbaijani people in the liberated territories? Today, the congress is being held outside the demolished building of the Real School in Shusha.”
Speaking about the pollution of the liberated areas with landmines, Hajiyev said that the fate of about 4,000 Azerbaijanis missing in the First Karabakh War is still unknown.
