"Before and during the 44-day war, the Armenian diaspora appealed to the Azerbaijani diaspora with a proposal to hold meetings and conduct negotiations. However, at that time, the Azerbaijani community categorically refused. Because our lands were under occupation," Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, told journalists, Report informs.
At the current stage, there are no such ideas yet.
Muradov said that the Azerbaijani officials are doing the necessary work: "Work is ongoing in the direction of reintegration and establishing an environment of trust. But, of course, this is not an easy task. At the moment, we are still commemorating our martyrs."
