A musical evening dedicated to the anniversary of the Patriotic War of Azerbaijan was organized by the Muslim Magomayev Cultural Center in Kyiv, Ukraine, Report informs.
the event, attended by Azerbaijani Ambassador to Ukraine Elmira Akhundova, embassy staff, an official of the National Reform Council under the President of Ukraine Vladislav Antipin, People's Artist of Ukraine Raisa Nedashkovskaya, representatives of universities, diaspora, and local communities attended the event began with a minute of silence in memory of the war victims.
In her speech, Ambassador Elmira Akhundova said that for the second day, Azerbaijanis worldwide, including those living in Ukraine, are commemorating the anniversary of the Great Patriotic War that ended the 30-year occupation.
"Under the leadership of the victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, our army showed extraordinary heroism in 44 days and liberated our occupied territories. The memory of those killed in this war is always dear to us. They lost their lives for the most sacred cause. Others have lost their health. There are Ukrainians who lost their lives in the aggression against the territory of Ukraine. We respect the memory of those who lost their lives for the sake of their homeland. Glory to the heroes!" the ambassador added.
Then, pieces of Azerbaijani and Ukrainian music were performed with the participation of the head of the Muslim Magomayev Cultural Center, People's Artist of Ukraine Gurban Abbasov, singer Natalya Kudryasheva, "Azerbaijan" folk ensemble, and other soloists and dance groups.
