Azerbaijanis living in Ukraine created an international humanitarian fund in connection with the war going on in the country, Report informs.
The founders of the "Atesh" International Humanitarian Fund are Alish Safarov, the head of the Azerbaijani Society for the Vinnytsia Oblast of Ukraine, and Teymur Abushov, an Azerbaijani MP from Vinnytsia.
The fund intends to systematize and legalize the assistance of Azerbaijanis living in Ukraine, as well as those who have temporarily left the country due to the war and live in around the world, to those affected by the war waged by Russia in Ukraine. The fund also helps wounded soldiers of the Ukrainian army who are being treated in Vinnytsia.
The Azerbaijani founders, who have been actively participating in aid related to the humanitarian disaster in Ukraine since the first days of the war, say that they will achieve a larger-scale and, at the same time, more transparent organization by uniting the efforts of their compatriots through the fund. The fund envisages a mission ranging from various assistance to children who lost their parents due to the war in Ukraine, families deprived of their homes, and wounded soldiers to humanitarian support to the army.
