Azerbaijani runs for presidency in Ukraine

Baku. 17 January. REPORT.AZ/ Former member of Ukraine's Supreme Rada (parliament), former chief of the country's Fiscal Service, Roman Mikayil oghlu Nasirov of Azerbaijani descent has nominated for presidency at the next presidential election due in the country.

Report informs that Nasirov has already submitted his documents to the Ukrainian Central Election Commission (CEC).

Nasirov's rating is not high in the country, because he was released from his last post (Fiscal Service chief) for corruptive actions and was arrested over that.

It is noted that the Azerbaijani native of Goranboy Nasirov does not take part in the Diaspora or national activity of Azerbaijanis in Ukraine.

Notably, the election campaign in Ukraine kicked off on December 31 and the election will be held on March 31. The Central Election Commission has already registered 8 nominees.
