Azerbaijan represented for first time at MACFEST

The Muslim Arts and Culture Festival (MACFEST) was organized internationally for the first time this year, and our country was represented at the festival with the financial support of the Azerbaijan Diaspora Support Fund.

According to Report, the festival is aimed at combating Islamophobia and bringing together Muslim and non-Muslim communities.

The festival, hosted by MACFEST founder and CEO Qaisra Shahraz, was attended by prominent BBC journalists and former diplomats. At this prestigious event, officials serving various fields and institutions, well-known figures of culture and art represented our country.

Participants of the event were presented a video on Christian (Albanian) and Muslim historical monuments in our country and given detailed information on the history of religious monuments.

The festival also provided extensive information about Shusha, the cultural capital of Azerbaijan, demonstrated videos about our national cuisine, national costumes, Karabakh horses, and provided detailed information about carpet weaving, which has a special place in the history of our national culture.

Besides, videos reflecting the natural and historical beauties of Azerbaijan were brought to foreign participants' attention.

At the end of the event, samples of Azerbaijani national music were performed.

The author of the project of Azerbaijan's participation in the festival is Leyla Gasimova, a graduate of the University of Manchester.
