Azerbaijan launches new project pertinent to migrants

The State Committee for Work with Diaspora has started a new program on the activities of Azerbaijani migrants.

The project envisages shooting short films featuring the life and activities of the Azerbaijani asylum seekers living abroad since the early last century, the State Committee told Report.

The Committee presented the project with the introduction of life stories of the migrants residing in Turkey. The text of the videos belongs to Dilgam Ahmad, editor-in-chief of ‘Çapar’ history magazine, a Ph.D. candidate at Istanbul University, an author of studies on immigrants.

Exploring the lives of migrants is of utmost importance for the study of the Azerbaijani diaspora’s history. There have been politicians, literary men, lawyers, poets, and other successful people among them. They have struggled for the independence of Azerbaijan and did significant work in their respective fields in the countries of residence.
