Yerevan's former resident: Tepebashi quarter destroyed by Armenians

Tepebashi quarter, considered the heart of Yerevan, is located on the eastern height of the city, Telman Gasimov, chairman of the "Scientific Researches" Public Union, a former resident of Yerevan, said at the presentation of the research on "The fate of the Tepebashi quarter, the last remnant of Azerbaijan's national-cultural and historical heritage in the city of Yerevan: the destruction of the heritage of the Azerbaijani people in Armenia and the erasure of historical traces," Report informs.

According to him, local Azerbaijani residents who lived here in the past created a unique image of Tepebashi:

"Along with ordinary people, famous persons, artists, and merchants of the city lived in this quarter. They had not only land but also property. I remember that residents used to gather in mosques, drink tea and talk."

He noted that today, instead of preserving its national colour, the Tepebashi quarter has been turned into ruins by the Armenians:

"The world should not be silent on this. I also appeal to UNESCO regarding Yerevan and the Tepebashi quarter of the city. This issue should be kept in mind."
