"We must show the whole world the destruction by Armenia and its patrons of a very ancient, rich culture and history in Karabakh," Sayit Yusuf, deputy secretary general of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), told Report's Ankara bureau.
Recalling that he visited Karabakh last year at the invitation of the State Committee for Diaspora Affairs of Azerbaijan, the deputy secretary general of the organization noted that he personally witnessed the terrible destruction and stressed the importance of conveying this injustice to the whole world.
"Last year, I traveled to Shusha as Deputy Chairman of the Office for Diaspora Affairs and Compatriots Abroad under the Turkish Government. Along the way, I saw injustice towards a very large geography, the population of Karabakh, its nature and ancient culture, I was really shocked," Sayit Yusuf said.
He stressed that he maintains the relevance of this issue even after his appointment to a high post in TURKSOY.
"Azerbaijan takes a defensive position in this issue, and we, being TURKSOY, are on the side of Azerbaijan," the deputy head of the organization added.
