Sec.-Gen.: TURKSOY Festival important for integration of theaters of Turkic-speaking countries

The TURKSOY International Theater Festival is very important for the integration of theaters of Turkic-speaking countries, Secretary General of TURKSOY Sultan Raev said at a press conference, Report informs.

He noted that the theater festival of the Turkic world was organized for the first time, precisely in Azerbaijan.

“This festival will play an important role in the integration of theaters of Turkic-speaking countries,” he said.

Raev emphasized that the festival is also important from the point of view of expanding connections between theater workers.

The first TURKSOY International Theater Festival was held from October 31 to November 4 in Shusha and Baku. The event was timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, the election of Shusha city as the “Cultural Capital of the Turkic World” for 2023, the 150th anniversary of the creation of the National Theater of Azerbaijan and the 30th anniversary of TURKSOY.
