Riga hosts concert of Azerbaijani performers dedicated to year of Shusha

A concert of Azerbaijani performers dedicated to the year of Shusha has been held in Riga, Baltic bureau of Report informs.

The event organized by the Azerbaijani Embassy was attended by representatives of the political circles of Latvia, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited there and Azerbaijanis living in this country.

In his welcoming speech, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Latvia Elnur Sultanov noted that the concert was timed to coincide with the Victory Day, as a result of which Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity was restored. He also spoke about the history of Shusha and its significance for the development of the culture of the region as a whole.

The works of the great Azerbaijani composers Uzeyir Hajibayli, Vasif Adigozalov, Fikrat Amirov, Muslim Magomayev and other prominent representatives of Azerbaijani culture were performed at the concert at the National Library of Latvia by the Honored Artist of Azerbaijan Ilham Nazarov, famous pianist Saida Tagizade and the brilliant tar player Sahib Pashazade.
