On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the legacy of the Nobel brothers in Azerbaijan, a presentation of a book and film about the life of the founders of the first foreign company took place in Baku, Report informs.
The event was organized by the Swedish Embassy in Azerbaijan.
"In 1873, Robert Nobel visited Azerbaijan for the first time. Robert’s visit to the land of fires and winds laid the foundation for the development of the oil industry of Azerbaijan, as well as bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Sweden," said Swedish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Tobias Lorentzson at the opening of the event.
According to the ambassador, an important initiative to preserve the legacy of the Nobel brothers in Azerbaijan was taken a year ago, when it was decided to translate a book about them into the Azerbaijani language, as well as make a documentary film.
In turn, the author of the book, Bengt Jangfeldt, emphasized that writing it was a pleasure for him not only because he wrote about one of the most popular Swedish families, but also discovered Baku and Azerbaijan.
