UNESCO Director General expresses gratitude to Azerbaijan

UNESCO Director-General Audrey  Azule has sent a letter of appreciation to the Government of Azerbaijan on 43rd Session of the World Heritage Committee.

Report informs citing the Culture Ministry that, according to the letter, Azerbaijan hosted such an influential event on a high level and expressed gratitude on preparation  for the 43rd Session of the World Heritage Committee, the organization of the session and the effective management of the meetings.

The Director General also said that he enjoyed visiting the Gobustan Reserve during his visit to Baku: "Personally, I was very pleased to discover a rich cultural heritage of Azerbaijan by visiting Gobustan, as well as efforts taken by the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Culture in preserving and promoting this cultural site."

The letter also invited the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan to attend the Ministerial Culture Forum ahead of the 40th session of the General Conference to be held by UNESCO on November 19, 2019.

The letter of the Director General ends with these thoughts: “I left Baku against the background of dynamically developing relations between UNESCO and Azerbaijan, and I was very pleased. I am once again convinced that I can always count on Your support. ”
