Heydar Aliyev’s ideas of multiculturalism were embodied in all spheres of the life of the state, Azerbaijani MP Nizami Safarov said during the conference “Heydar Aliyev - the architect of modern independent Azerbaijan and the founder of Azerbaijani multiculturalism” held in Baku, Report informs.
Safarov stressed that this year Azerbaijanis from all over the world are celebrating the centenary of the national leader’s birth.
“He had a fateful role in the history of the 20th century. He had a significant impact on the development of multiculturalism both within the former Soviet Union and within our country. It can be said without exaggeration that Heydar Aliyev is the founder of the modern model of multiculturalism in Azerbaijan,” he said.
“The absence of multiculturalism leads to genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, etc. We have been witnesses of these crimes for about 30 years,” the deputy added.
