Japanese virtuoso pianist holds concert in Baku

Japanese virtuoso pianist and composer Tempei Nakamura held a concert at the International Mugam Center in Baku on July 18.

According to Report, the event is organized by the Embassy of Japan to Azerbaijan within the framework of the Year of Japan-Azerbaijan Friendship, dated to the 30th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the countries.

Nakamura performed his self-penned music pieces as part of his European tour featuring Japan and the ongoing global problems.

In the second part of the concert, Nakamura performed the compositions he created during the COVID-19 pandemic and a piece inspired by his visit to Azerbaijan.

The Japanese pianist said he was impressed with the beauty of Baku, and Yanardag was the most memorable sight for him in Absheron.

"Azerbaijan is a land of fire. Therefore I understand why people living here are so passionate," he told the audience, which warmly greeted the Japanese virtuoso pianist's performance.

Appearing as an encore, he also performed the anthem of Azerbaijan.

Nakamura has held numerous charity concerts in Japan, the United States, and Europe.
