EU Ambassador: IMAGINE is a festival about unity

"Tolerance, multiculturalism-will be the keywords in our IMAGINE festival this year."

Report informs, EU Delegation to Azerbaijan Kestutis Jankauskas said during an online press conference.

"Recently, we have witnessed the EU flag projected on the facade of the Heydar Aliyev Center as a sign of solidarity in the fight against COVID-19. This festival will be about partnership, cooperation, and unity. Thank you to everyone who joined us!"

In turn, Deputy Ambassador Denis Daniilidis noted that about 70 people take part in the festival and that they could prepare the festival program in the shortest possible time.

"The festival aims to "embrace" every citizen of Azerbaijan in such difficult times through culture and art, which shows how vital these things are in terms of bringing people together. Moreover, it is also an expression of support for artists and cultural figures, who cannot work entirely due to the pandemic."

Latvian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Dainis Garančs, also said the three films to be represented by his country at the festival reflect the positive aspects of life, which are so few today.

The Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Onno Kervers, is sure that unity and dialogue are more important today than ever.

"I am delighted that despite the coronavirus pandemic, the IMAGINE festival will take place. This festival is about European values, human freedom, and dialogue. The festival will also feature an exhibition of my photos, which reflects my inspiration for Azerbaijan. You can feel it."

Notably, the 4th IMAGINE festival will take place on May 7-15 in the online format.
