The International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) is closely cooperating with Azerbaijan, ICOMOS Vice-President Zeynep Gul Unal said at the International Conference on “The Role of UNESCO Conventions Concerning the Protection of Cultural Properties and Aspects of Improving Their Implementation” jointly organized by the National Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan for UNESCO, the ICOMOS National Committee of Azerbaijan and the Development Institute and Diplomacy of the ADA University.
"The challenges we are facing today are very serious. Climate change, hybrid wars - all this damages cultural heritage," she said, adding that in this regard, the issue of its preservation is particularly relevant.
"We are closely cooperating with Azerbaijan. Today's event will be another contribution to our efforts to preserve cultural heritage," said Zeynep Gul Unal.
