Heydar Aliyev Center to host exhibition of Nigerian sculptor dedicated to environmental protection

The Heydar Aliyev Center will host another exhibition featuring works by Nigerian sculptor Dotun Popoola, Report informs.

The sculptor's personal exhibition "Reclaimed Beauty" will open on November 7.

The sculptor is holding his 7th personal exhibition on the eve of COP29 in Baku, and with his original works, he emphasizes the importance of climate protection and environmental care by creating pieces not from traditional materials, but from metal industrial waste.

Since 2012, Azerbaijan has been hosting the international festival "From Waste to Art" organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, which aims to draw public attention to environmental issues. Works made primarily from household waste demonstrate the possibility of turning even waste into works of art. The successful work in this field resulted in the opening of the "From Waste to Art" museum in Azerbaijan in 2015 at the Gala State Historical and Ethnographic Reserve.
