First Creative Psychology Symposium taking place in Baku

The second day of the first Creative Psychology Symposium is taking place in Baku with the support of the inspiring art center Nine Senses and the innovative project “Bizimkiler,” Report informs.

Master classes from leading experts in the field of creative psychotherapy were organized as part of the two-day event.

The Creative Psychology Symposium covers art therapy, poetry therapy, yoga and more. It is these areas that are used in healthcare, education and social development.

“For us, this event is very organic, because we are doing the same thing as the initiators of this project. We are creating an integral, spherically developed person,” said Nine senses director Natalya Zhukova.

She noted that after participating in this kind of event, a person begins to feel differently: through creativity, singing, through bodily and spiritual practices that take place at Nine Senses.

“Therefore, it is no coincidence that we joined forces in this interesting project. We advised our teachers who are working with the participants today. All teachers work for free. This is a charity project,” added Zhukova.

In turn, one of the organizers of the symposium, Lala Alakbarova, told how the idea of holding such an event was born.

“The idea of holding a symposium didn’t come to me, it came to Elnur Hajiyev. He is a clinical psychologist, a doctor. In the world as a whole there is the practice of art therapy. But in our city, we didn’t have all this combined into one thing,” she said.

Alakbarova emphasized that this symposium is dedicated to five areas of creativity.

“The theme of our first day yesterday and the theme of our day today is sound and music. This is dance and movement, as well as yoga. This is how we divided the program into two days. We have excellent specialists with us. They tell, show and do collective exercise,” she added.

Nine Senses holds festivals of bodily and spiritual practices, seminars, lectures on contemporary art and also provides quality education in the field of art and creative industries. Developmental programs vary from computer animation and mobilography to yoga and meditation.
