EU's cultural festival Eurovillage underway in Lankaran

Eurovillage, the festival of culture of the European Union countries, is being held in the Heydar Aliyev Park in Lankaran.

Report informs that the event was organized with the support of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan.

The stands of the embassies of Romania, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland, Sweden, Bulgaria, Germany, Belgium, Croatia, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic are presented at the festival.

Head of Lankaran Executive Power Taleh Garashov, welcoming the guests, noted that the festival is a small trip to the EU countries, and the guests of the event can get acquainted with the culture of European countries.

"Thanks to the far-sighted successful foreign policy of Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan's relations with the EU countries are getting stronger every year. This event will serve as a good opportunity to learn the culture and values of the EU countries represented at this festival," the head of the Executive Power said.

In turn, EU Ambassador to Azerbaijan Peter Michalko said that Lankaran is a region that actively cooperates with the EU. According to him, in general, the partnership between Azerbaijan and the EU continues to develop actively.

Deputy Minister of Economy Sahib Mammadov noted that one of the main priorities of Azerbaijan's foreign policy is the development of relations with international organizations. Cooperation with the countries of the European Union occupies a special place in this regard.

Mammadov stressed that the EU is Azerbaijan's main trade partner. Over the past 10 years, the EU has invested 20 billion euros in the Azerbaijani economy, provided 640 million euros of technical support, and implemented more than 50 twinning projects.

According to the deputy minister, Azerbaijan is a reliable partner of the European Union in the energy sector.
