A digital platform of Turkic cultural heritage can be created, the President of the Foundation, Aqtoty Raiymqulova, said at the panel session themed “Ensuring lasting peace for the revival and preservation of culture in the post-conflict periods” held on the sidelines of the 6th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Baku Thursday, Report informs.
According to her, in post-conflict and post-war periods, culture plays a crucial role in reconstruction and the fostering of peace and reconciliation: “The fabric of any nation is woven with the threads of its culture—its art, history, traditions, and values. The role of culture in such times can be multifaceted and deeply impactful. Culture serves as a powerful tool for bridging divides between conflicting groups. Cultural initiatives can bring communities together, fostering dialogue and understanding among previously warring factions. In this regard, let me applaud the initiative put forward by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture, ‘Peace for Culture', which aims at ensuring lasting peace for the revival and preservation of culture in the post-conflict and post-war periods, as well as building dialogue between nations and countries.”
Raiymqulova said that true peace grows when culture and history are respected and celebrated: “Our task, therefore, is monumental yet clear. We must work to ensure that our cultural heritage, in all its diversity and richness, is not only preserved but also serves as the foundation upon which we build a peaceful future.”
