Database created for monuments in Tepebashi quarter of Yerevan

A database of monuments in the Tepebashi quarter of Yerevan has been created, said Sabuhi Huseynov, author of the research on "The fate of Tepebashi quarter, the last remnant of Azerbaijan's national-cultural and historical heritage in the city of Yerevan: the destruction of the heritage of the Azerbaijani people in Armenia and the erasure of historical traces", Report informs.

According to him, the documents stored in the National Archives of Azerbaijan, the State Historical Archives of Azerbaijan, the Collection of Rare Manuscripts of the United States of America Library of Congress, the Ottoman Archives in the Republic of Turkiye, the State Archives of the Russian Federation were used in the preparation of the materials. The microfilms taken from the Archives of Armenia stored in the archives of third countries were included in the research.

Huseynov also stated that, for the first time in the investigation of the topic, thanks to the integration of military topographic maps and city plans known to this day in the environment of the Geographical Information System, the historical city landscape was determined. Various analyses related to the area were carried out. The exact coordinates of the architectural monuments in the Tepebashi part of Yerevan were identified, and their destruction period was determined: "Currently, only the territory of the Tepebashi quarter of the city of Yerevan has been determined, and a database of existing monuments has been created. It is known that there are more than 300 residential houses here."
