Cutout animation studio “Anima” opens in Baku

The animation studio project, launched at the Nine Senses Center for Creativity and Self-Development, will work with various types of animation, computer art, digital art and so on, Director of Nine Senses Natalya Zhukova told Report.

The director spoke about the styles of animation and photography presented today at the animated miniatures exhibition that opened here, such as freezelightning and stop motion filming of animated films.

According to director Emin Mirabdullayev, animation originated before cinema and therefore has the right to be called its elder sister.

“To create animation, you need different kinds of skills, such as drawing, and knowledge of human anatomy, even being a composer to create music for animation,” the director said.

On October 28, as part of International Animation Day, the Nine Senses Center for Creativity and Self-Development held an interactive introductory lesson on world animation. Viewers could participate in the creation of an animated video in the new studio and watch how stop motion cutout animation was made.
