Azerbaijani national women’s clothing is exhibited in Washington, at the Woodrow Wilson House, which currently functions as a museum.
According to a correspondent from the US bureau of Report, the show as part of the Fashioning Power, Fashioning Peace exhibition was initiated by the Azerbaijani Embassy in the US.
A special dress information plaque mentions the role of Sara Khatun, who was the first female diplomat in the East and the mother of Akkoyunlu State ruler Uzun Hasan, in establishing diplomatic relations.
The exhibition also features historical costumes presented by the diplomatic missions of more than 40 countries operating in Washington.
During the speeches, it was noted that the purpose of the exhibition is to promote global interaction and create a bridge between peoples by uniting cultural diversity and elegance through fashion.
