Azerbaijani museums will host an Open Doors Day, Report informs referring to the Ministry of Culture.
On the occasion of May 18 - International Museum Day, citizens and guests of the country will be able to visit museums for free tomorrow.
The decision to establish the holiday was taken at the initiative of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) in 1977 and the main goal is to demonstrate the important role of museums in public life.
The holiday is held annually under various slogans. This year’s International Museum Day is themed “Museums, Sustainability and Prosperity.”
In connection with the International Museum Day, the museums under the Ministry of Culture have announced an Open Doors Day in order to effectively organize people’s leisure and familiarize them with the rich cultural heritage of Azerbaijan.
