Azerbaijani Carpet - New Look exhibition opens in Moscow

The Azerbaijani Carpet - New Look exhibition has kicked off in “Azerbaijan” Pavilion at Russia’s Exhibition of the Achievements of the National Economy as part of the festival of Azerbaijani culture “Days of Azerbaijan in Moscow” timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Russia, the Russian bureau of Report informs.

The event is organized by the management of the pavilion, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Azerkhalcha OJSC.

The exhibition features 14 Karabakh carpets, as well as four carpets from the modern collection of carpets in a new original format. The presented exclusive carpets in their original conceptual design are the result of fruitful cooperation between the creative team of Azerkhalcha and Honored Artist of Azerbaijan Rashad Alakbarov.

The pavilion will also feature the literary project “By Word of Mouth,” online reading of the poem “Seven Beauties” performed by Russian cultural and art figures.

The director of the pavilion, Saadat Kadirova, spoke about the important influence of carpet weaving on the life of every Azerbaijani.

“Azerbaijani ornaments served as an inspiration for many artists, for people who are engaged in applied art. Azerbaijani carpets are a certain line in the culture and art of Azerbaijan, which is given great attention by the leadership of Azerbaijan, and this exhibition is a confirmation of this,” she said.
