The Azerbaijani city of Lachin will become the cultural capital of the CIS in 2025, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a limited-format meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of State in Moscow on Tuesday, according to Report.
"Every year we choose the cultural capital of the Commonwealth, which becomes the center for holding vibrant, creative, and humanitarian events that attract keen interest from citizens of all our countries. Currently, it's Samarkand. Next year, according to the proposed draft decision, the Azerbaijani Lachin will take over the baton," Putin said.
