Art exhibition dedicated to Azerbaijan opens in New York

An art exhibition dedicated to Azerbaijan has opened in New York’s Brooklyn Borough Hall.

According to Report’s local bureau, the exhibition featured works created by pupils of the New York City Center for the Development of Children and Youth “My way.”

The head of the center Alena Badalova said that the exhibits of the traditional exhibition reflect the events dedicated to the celebration of the historical victory of Azerbaijan. Pupils of the center in their works also described the rich history, picturesque nature, culture and national traditions of Azerbaijan.

“Both children from Azerbaijani families living in the United States and children of American origin study in our center. The art studio works under the guidance of the well-known sculptor and artist Emin Guliyev in Azerbaijan. Our pupils take part in exhibitions in the United States, neighboring countries and Azerbaijan. They received many awards. For seven years now, they have been participating in exhibitions held annually at New York and Brooklyn City Halls,” she said.

Badalova noted that the pupils of the Center are preparing for the next exhibition, which will be held in New York.

“Our next exhibition is dedicated to the prominent representative of Azerbaijani literature, poet-thinker and playwright Huseyn Javid. This year marks the 140th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding poet, and on this occasion, we try to acquaint our students with his legacy,” the head of the center added.
