The Italian Cuisine Week in Azerbaijan opens new horizons for strengthening trade and economic relations between the two countries, Italian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Luca di Gianfrancesco told a press conference dedicated to the opening of the 9th Italian Cuisine Week in Baku, Report informs.
The diplomat added that cooperation with Azerbaijan is actively developing:
"Cuisine weeks are not just a platform to showcase our culture, but can also be an excellent opportunity to strengthen economic and trade relations between Italy and Azerbaijan. Behind each presented product stands an economic sector that is of great importance for Italy and its economy."
Gianfrancesco emphasized that agribusiness is a crucial sector of the Italian economy:
"In 2023 alone, Italy's agricultural exports worldwide exceeded 64 billion euros, which is 6% more compared to the previous year."
He noted that the timing of the Italian Cuisine Week in Azerbaijan is very appropriate:
"Because the inclusion of Italian cuisine in UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage list is currently being actively promoted."
