The Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change - COP, the 29th session of which will be held this year in Azerbaijan, has established itself as the main platform for discussing and resolving important issues, Executive Director of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Zoritsa Urosevic said at the 6th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Baku.
She noted that the consequences of climate change are becoming increasingly clear and pose a threat to global security.
The UNWTO is developing the tourism sector, based on the Glasgow Declaration on Climate Action in Tourism, but these efforts alone are not enough, she said.
Many factors are important to establish peace. Their interaction contributes to the sustainable development of tourism. Tomorrow the issue of increasing peacebuilding efforts will also be discussed here in the post-conflict period, she added, sincerely congratulating President Ilham Aliyev and the people of Azerbaijan on this initiative.
