Increasing health and environmental literacy is one of the main pillars of the Baku Human Development Initiative for Climate Resilience, COP29 Lead Negotiator, Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev, told a COP29 session on "Baku Human Development Initiative for Climate Resilience" held in Baku, Report informs.
"Making health and environmental literacy a core educational objective, and greening education to ensure sustainable and resilient school infrastructure is one of the main pillars of the Baku Initiative for Human Development for Climate Resilience. Within the framework of cooperation with UNESCO, the UN's specialized agency for Science, Education and Culture, this initiative will green school curricula, teacher training, and educational capacity. As part of this effort, the initiative will also support the development of environmental literacy metrics such as the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA)," Rafiyev emphasized.
