Climate financing is one of the most important factors in achieving the Paris Agreement goals, including the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, Azerbaijan's Deputy Foreign Minister and Lead Negotiator of COP29 Yalchin Rafiyev said, Report informs.
The deputy minister made the remarks during his speech at a roundtable discussion themed "Transformative Climate Action: Moving from Financial Flows to Impact and the Catalytic Role of Independent Development Banks" held within COP29 in Baku.
According to Rafiyev, the frequent climate disasters occurring these days emphasize the urgency of climate action: "COP29 is an opportunity to demonstrate our ability to act together globally in fighting the climate crisis."
