Yael Barash Harman: Israel, Azerbaijan have potential to develop co-op in renewables

Israel and Azerbaijan have sufficient potential for developing cooperation in renewable energy, Yael Barash Harman, chief scientific officer of Israel's Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, said in an interview with Report.

"Israel is a leader in the technological aspect. In this regard, delegations from many countries, including Azerbaijan, come to Israel to explore the possibilities of applying modern technologies in renewable energy development. Of course, there is great scope for further cooperation, joint research and development," she said.

She noted that the global community should pay more attention to climate change.

"We really need to understand that we need to make more efforts and be more involved in finding solutions. We are increasingly facing the consequences of climate change, such as floods and fires. It's not just about using modern technologies; people need to approach the issue more responsibly, for example by reducing energy consumption," she added.

Harman also noted the importance of women's active participation in climate action.

She emphasized that women care about their children's future.

"I believe that women's role should be much stronger. I believe that women can help change the climate situation," she concluded.
