UNFCCC: Impacts of climate change require more and more investment

Observations over the past century have revealed that the consequences of climate change are manifesting at an alarmingly rapid pace, Head of Communications at the UNFCC Alexander Saier told a media workshop on effective communication strategies held within the framework of the 29 Climate Conversations: “The Road To COP29” in Baku, Report informs.

Saier emphasized the escalating financial burden of climate adaptation. “Previously, it was estimated that approximately $100 billion per year was needed to adapt to climate change. However, in recent years, we’ve realized that climate change and its impacts are accelerating, requiring increasingly larger investments," he stated.

Saier further emphasized the significance of the upcoming session in Baku, Azerbaijan, noting that it will play a crucial role in discussing climate finance issues.
