UN official praises Azerbaijan's youth for environmental enthusiasm

The youth of Azerbaijan are enthusiastically ready to contribute to the country's development, Inger Andersen, the United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), said during a joint press conference with Mukhtar Babayev, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources and President of COP29.

According to Report, she emphasized that young people can influence changes in the country, so it is important to involve youth in various processes in leadership positions.

"I was glad to visit IDEA [public union] yesterday and meet with activists actively working on environmental conservation issues," Andersen said.
