The UN calls on member states to actively participate in multilateral discussions at COP29 in Baku, UN Secretary-General's spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said during a daily briefing in New York, Report informs.
The secretary-general's representative noted that the whole world and humanity are suffering from the climate crisis, and this international summit will benefit every country.
"Our message to member states is that they should actively participate in multilateral discussions at COP29. It is obvious that the climate crisis knows no borders and affects all of us. We see this daily. Forest fires rage in our hometowns, we see floods devastating different parts of the world. Everyone should be at the negotiating table, and everyone should actively participate in COP29," concluded Dujarric.
