An event titled Road from Dubai to Baku was held in Ashgabat, the Embassy of Azerbaijan to Turkmenistan told Report.
The event was organized by the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Turkmenistan, the UN Resident Coordinator's office in the country, as well as, the embassies of Azerbaijan and the UAE in Turkmenistan.
Speakers at the event exchanged views on post-COP28 activities and discussed preparations for the COP29 summit to be held in Azerbaijan in November 2024, as well as the transition to green energy and the reduction of methane emissions.
The Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Turkmenistan, Gismat Gozalov, emphasized that 2024 was declared Green World Solidarity Year in Azerbaijan, drawing attention to the climate action projects implemented by his country and the green energy projects implemented in Azerbaijan.
The ambassador also spoke about the destructive effect of landmines and the current mine threat in the Azerbaijani territories, as well as the serious ecological and humanitarian consequences caused by it.
