Titov: Greta Thunberg has no clue about choosing locations for climate discussions

The selection of Azerbaijan as COP29 host is completely justified, as climate issues should be discussed specifically in oil-producing countries, Boris Titov, the Special Envoy of the Russian President, said at the climate conference, Report informs.

It was previously reported that Swedish eco-activist Greta Thunberg and the Caucasus Feminist Anti-War Movement held a protest against COP29 in the center of Tbilisi.

"Greta Thunberg has no clue about choosing a location to discuss climate issues. Greta is far from economics, so she doesn't properly assess the real balance of needs and capabilities. Fossil resources will play their global role for a long time, and abandoning them right now at any cost is, to put it mildly, not effective. At the same time, I completely agree with Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev's astonishment at the criticism directed at the country regarding oil. This is truly a gift of nature," he said.
