As part of the preparations for the COP29 global climate conference to be held in Baku on November 11-22 this year, hotels have been involved in relevant training to increase sustainability competencies, Report informs, citing the COP29 Azerbaijan Operations Company.
It was stated that the training is being carried out jointly by the COP29 Azerbaijan Operations Company, the State Tourism Agency of the country, and the Azerbaijan Hotel Association.
It was reported that the training, based on Sustainability Guidelines prepared by the company and conducted by specialists from the relevant departments of the Operations Company, is aimed at increasing the potential of the local hotel sector in the field of sustainability and aligning it with international standards.
The training covered hotels operating in Baku, Absheron, and Sumgayit. The purpose of the training is to support the proper execution of operations in the hospitality sector, and to assist local hotels in organizing their activities in accordance with high safety standards, as well as principles of inclusivity and accessibility.
