Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Mexico, Mammad Talibov, has met with students from the Higher School of Commerce and Management of the National Polytechnic Institute, one of the most prestigious higher education institutions in the country, Report informs referring to the Azerbaijani diplomatic mission.
During the meeting held at the embassy, the diplomat spoke about the historical path of development of modern Azerbaijan and the restoration of its state independence.
He also informed the students about the difficulties that arose in the first years of the country's independence, the life and activities of national leader Heydar Aliyev, his exceptional role in building the Azerbaijani state, as well as the positive changes in geopolitical processes both in the region and throughout Eurasia as a result of the implementation of global energy and transport projects based on the foresight and ideas of the great leader.
In his speech, the ambassador also talked about the history of Armenian aggression, the 44-day war and its results, new realities in the region, the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, large-scale restoration work in the liberated territories, the ongoing peace process, the country's oil and gas strategy, economic development indicators, existing mine danger, steps taken for the safe and dignified return of internally displaced persons to their homes.
The diplomat informed the students about prestigious events held in Azerbaijan, successful experience of chairing the largest organization after the UN - the Non-Aligned Movement, the UN Security Council and the Organization of Turkic States, and also spoke about Azerbaijan's preparation for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), which will be held in Baku in November this year.
In addition, information was provided on bilateral relations between Mexico and Azerbaijan, recent mutual visits, expanding opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in the field of culture, tourism and other areas, as well as educational opportunities, internships and scholarship programs for foreign students in our country. In conclusion, Ambassador Talibov answered questions of interest to the students.
