Azerbaijan has been working tirelessly towards achieving common approaches in the fight against climate change, stated Sahiba Gafarova, the Speaker of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan, at the 57th Plenary Session of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member Nations held in St. Petersburg on November 22, Report informs.
Gafarova emphasized that the successes achieved within the framework of COP29 inspire hope that the international community will remain united and consistent in addressing this critical issue.
She highlighted the contributions made by parliaments to this process and recalled the Parliamentary Session organized jointly by the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the Milli Majlis as part of COP29, which brought together delegations from over 90 parliaments and international organizations.
The speaker discussed that the two-day meeting and its final document served as an expression of common positions in the fight against climate change.
