The world has high hopes for climate finance, Simon Stiell, Executive Secretary of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), said.
According to Report, speaking at the event within COP29, Stiell noted that a new goal is expected to be agreed and participants attracted from across the entire financial system.
He stressed the need for this new framework to ensure climate action across all communities, climate action by all and for all.
He noted that inclusivity is needed to implement the necessary changes and achieve progress.
The world is at a turning point, and it's necessary to ensure that everyone is moving in the same direction, accumulating necessary financing and accelerating climate action, Stiell noted.
He thanked the COP29 presidency for organizing such an important event, as there is a need to hear voices from the ground, from NGOs and activists who are more familiar with the situation.
