Shahbazov invites Central Asian countries to join Baku, Astana, Tashkent project

The agreement on green energy signed at COP29 between the governments of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan reflects strong brotherly and friendly ties and strategic partnership between the countries, Azerbaijan's Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov said at the Investment Forum on Energy Transition in Central Asia within COP29, Report informs.

The minister noted that this agreement creates a solid foundation for establishing a "green energy" corridor and developing integrated electricity markets in the region.

He added that this cooperation will also help facilitate the export of renewable energy to other regions.

"After establishing a joint venture, we will begin research on integrating the energy systems of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. The consulting company Chessie has been engaged in the project. The project is not limited to Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. Other Central Asian countries, particularly Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, can also join us," he emphasized.
