PM: Morocco aims to increase share of renewables in energy balance to over 50%

Morocco has increased the share of renewable energy in its energy balance to 40% and intends to raise this figure to 52%, Morocco's Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch told journalists on the sidelines of COP29, Report informs.

He reminded that the consequences of climate change, such as drought and shorter winters, are acutely felt on the African continent.

Akhannouch emphasized that countries need to show solidarity on the issue of climate financing and emission reduction.

"Morocco is implementing major projects in water resources and renewable energy. We will continue moving forward towards the goal of zero emissions," he said.
