Pakistani MP: Climate change is global warning for all

Climate change is a crucial warning for the entire world, Rana Ateeq, a member of the Pakistani Parliament, told Report.

According to Ateeq, Pakistan's main expectation from COP29 is to raise awareness about his country being at the forefront of experiencing the impacts of climate change. "At the pavilion opened by Pakistan at COP29, we introduce our country to guests both culturally and geographically," he said.

He highlighted that in recent years, Pakistan has faced natural disasters such as floods and droughts due to climate change. "People are forced to leave their homes because of this, and we are trying to convey this to the global community. Pakistan needs technological and financial assistance," Ateeq emphasized.

Ateeq also underlined the crucial ties between Azerbaijan and Pakistan. "We are very close countries with Azerbaijan, and I see Azerbaijan as a brotherly country. We have supported each other not only politically but also militarily. I think this is a very close fraternal relationship," he said. "I hope that we will take good steps in the economic, trade, and energy fields in the future. There are many things that we can offer Azerbaijan and that Azerbaijan can offer us."
