Pakistan is interested in increasing mutual trade and developing cooperation with Azerbaijan in several areas, Pakistan's Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb said in an interview with Report.
According to the minister, Azerbaijan's plans to invest $2 billion in Pakistan increase both sides' interest in developing trade turnover. "The ball is in our court in terms of developing investment and banking projects," he said.
The minister noted significant potential for increasing trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, which, according to him, is not yet at the necessary high level. "We can increase mutual trade several times, including in information technology and mining industries," he noted.
Aurangzeb emphasized that Pakistan is also interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan in oil and gas and banking sectors. Several real investment projects in these areas will be developed in the next three to four months, he said.
According to the minister, tourist flow from Pakistan to Azerbaijan continues to grow. He noted that he himself wishes to visit Azerbaijan as a tourist in the near future.
"This is my first time in Baku. It's a very beautiful city and a wonderful country, and I expect to return here as a tourist," he said.
